More Than Just a Campsite
Day Camp takes place at Camp Sidrabene on Appleby Line in Burlington. 65 acres of outdoor space surrounded by the Niagara Escarpment, with a swimming pool, playing fields, forest, trails and access to Bronte Creek.
Campers spend their days swimming, exploring the creek, hunting for crayfish, building dams, body surfing the rapids and heading out on scavenger hunts across the property. Add in camp-wide games, challenges and campfires, and no two days at Kahuna feel quite the same.
Kahuna is an outdoor camp, and we believe kids should be able to get right into the adventure. Expect muddy shoes, wet clothes and tired campers coming home with plenty of stories to tell. Our packing list covers everything they’ll need for the day.

A nervous first morning
It’s completely normal for children to feel nervous at drop off, especially when it’s their first time at camp. Our staff are trained to be positive, engaging and welcoming, and no camper is expected to jump into the group before they feel ready.
A counsellor will take the time to connect with your child one on one, introduce them to other campers and help them find an activity that feels comfortable. We focus first on building a relationship and helping your child feel safe, supported and excited to be at camp.
Once that connection is there, joining the group often happens naturally. Before long, the nerves of that first morning can turn into excitement for the next day.

More Than a Game. It’s a Kahuna Tradition.
Some days, the regular program stops and the entire camp becomes part of one big adventure. Colour Wars, Escape from Section 54 and other camp-wide games bring campers and counsellors together for challenges, competitions and plenty of Kahuna spirit.
Along the way, campers may encounter some of Kahuna’s infamous characters, from the legendary Moo Moo Chicken to Chippy the Attack Squirrel. They’re part of the stories, surprises and traditions that make camp feel like its own little world.
Campfires bring everyone together for songs, stories and skits, while groups earn points throughout their time at camp for participation, teamwork, leadership and camp spirit. At the end, one group earns the ultimate bragging rights and takes home the legendary Kahuna Cup.

Leadership starts here
At Camp Kahuna, we believe leadership starts young and grows through everyday experiences. Whether it’s welcoming a new friend, encouraging a teammate or stepping up to lead a game, campers have opportunities to build confidence, develop teamwork and discover their own leadership potential.
Our counsellors encourage campers to step outside their comfort zones, take initiative and support one another. Leadership isn’t about being the loudest or the fastest. It’s about building character, showing kindness and having the confidence to try something new.
For campers ready to take the next step, our Extreme Team leadership program begins at age 13, giving them the opportunity to develop their skills and grow into the next generation of Kahuna leaders.
