A camp in Burlington since 1995

Camp Kahuna is a summer camp in Burlington, Ontario that has been creating unforgettable summers since 1995. Founded by Scott Graham of Kids4Kids, Kahuna was built around a simple belief that summer camp should be a place where kids can have fun, make friends and be themselves, while also developing the confidence and skills to become leaders.

Leadership has been at the heart of Camp Kahuna from the beginning. It isn’t reserved for the oldest campers or taught only in a workshop. Campers learn leadership by welcoming someone new, working through challenges together, taking responsibility and finding the confidence to step forward when their group needs them. As campers grow, those experiences can continue through our leadership programme, where teens develop practical skills and begin preparing to become the next generation of Kahuna leaders.

At the same time, Kahuna is everything a traditional summer camp should be. Days are spent outside swimming, exploring the creek, playing camp-wide games, getting muddy, making new friends and gathering around the campfire. It’s a unique camp experience built around the traditions kids love, with new adventures and surprises every summer.

Our home at Camp Sidrabene gives campers 65 acres of forest, fields, trails, a swimming pool and access to Bronte Creek, all just minutes from Burlington. It’s close to home, but once campers arrive, it feels like a world of its own.

For more than 30 years, generations of campers and staff have grown up at Kahuna, returning summer after summer and becoming part of the traditions that make camp special. Come for the summer. Grow for years. Become a leader.

The camp directors

Connor Parkin

Operator and Director

Connor has been at camp for 23 summers and runs Camp Kahuna day to day. He is an Ontario Certified Teacher with a BSc in Environmental Science from Trent University and a Master of Science in Education. Have a question for Connor? Call 905-491-6881.
Joe McNamara

Program Director

Joe has been part of Camp Kahuna for 25 summers and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. He builds the programme, the games, the theme days and the events that take over the whole site. Campers know him for two things, pineapples and moustaches.
Darcy Riesberry

Assistant Director and Extreme Team Coordinator

Darcy came to Camp Kahuna as a ten year old camper and never really left. He is finishing teachers college, coaches lacrosse, and runs the Extreme Team programme.
Charlotte Sangwin

Assistant Director

Charlotte is one of Camp Kahuna's Assistant Directors and has been part of the Camp Kahuna family for six years. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Studies and is an Ontario Certified Teacher. Around camp, Charlotte is known for her energy, leadership and, of course, her infamous Kahuna Cup wins!
Scott Graham

Founder and Leadership Director

Scott founded Camp Kahuna in 1995 and still teaches the leadership programme. He holds a BA in Social Development from the University of Waterloo and a Certificate in Social Work, and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by the Governor General of Canada. Around camp he is known for his stories.

He absolutely loves it and looks forward to it every summer. It’s such a true camp experience with amazing leaders, tons of games, great friendships and such a fun, friendly atmosphere. Everything is so well organized, and you can tell the staff really care about the kids. His younger brother has been dying to go but has been too young, so hopefully next summer will finally be his turn! Kahuna has become such a special part of our summers, and we’ll keep coming back for as long as we can!

From running around and swimming to playing in the creek, there’s truly something for everyone. The counselors are kind, caring, and fun, and they have made a genuine effort to get to know my kids and their individual interests. As a parent, I cannot recommend this camp enough. It’s the perfect place for kids to be kids, build friendships, and create lasting memories while learning important lessons to help guide them through life. While camp may be over for the summer my kids have yet to stop reminiscing about their time at Kahuna this summer!!

Connor & Scott, and all the staff make this an awesome experience for the kids. The leadership lessons and fun activities mean my kids come home truly happy every day.  I trust kahuna with my kids, the regular communication is great and the staff are available to talk to.
