KAHUNA NEWS

Entry added: August 2nd, 2026

How are we already at the end of the summer?! Time flies when you’re applying sunscreen every 20 minutes.

We’re down to our last two day camps, and then we’re finishing strong with the legendary BIG KAHUNA sleep-away camp.

A massive shoutout to our incredible staff—you survived the heat, the lost socks, and endless enthusiasm. To our amazing parents, thank you for the moral support on those rainy or wildfire-smoke-filled days (we know you were praying for our sanity). And of course, the kids were absolute rockstars!

πŸ‘€ Keep an eye out: We’re launching a shiny new website soon with awesome features parents are going to love (and no, one of the features isn’t a kid-mute button, but we tried!).

🐻 Introducing: Barely Bear!

Keep your eyes peeled for our brand-new camp character, Barely Bear! We are weaving the mysterious and hilarious "Finkle Lore" deeply into our games and activities this summer. The campers are absolutely going to love uncovering the mysteries.

A New Chapter for Camp Kahuna

I'm excited to share that I took over ownership of Camp Kahuna at the beginning of last summer. Scott Graham, the visionary founder of Kids 4 Kids and Camp Kahuna, wanted to ensure his passion for inspiring leadership in children would continue for decades to come. Scott remains deeply involved in camp, focusing on leadership development, instruction, and administration. My role now centers on overall camp and staff management, as well as parent communication.

Joe McNamara continues to serve as our dedicated Program Director, and Darcy Riesberry remains our Camp Director at our Mt. Nemo location. This summer, Darcy will also be lending his expertise to our Extreme Team Program as our Extreme Team advior.

We can't wait to welcome your children for another unforgettable summer!
